CTI closes in on spinoff plans

In March, Cell Therapeutics said it hoped to spin off parts of the company's Systems Medicine subsidiary and its operations in Bresso, Italy, in order to create a new company that would allow drug developers to determine what patient populations their drugs would work best with, allowing them to cut back on drug development costs.
